In the latest in a spate of shooting related incidents a teenager has been shot at while driving on Brisbane’s southside.

Gold Coast couple reveal moment they were shot while driving

An 18-year-old man is lucky to have escaped injury after he was shot at while driving through Logan last night.

Police on Wednesday morning revealed they are investigating an incident where a single bullet was fired into the man’s car in Underwood about 9pm Tuesday evening.

Investigators say the 18-year-old, from Wynnum West, heard a loud bang while waiting at traffic lights on Compton Rd, near North Rd.

He subsequently pulled over to a nearby service station where he found a bullet hole in the boot of his Mitsubishi Lancer.

Police said in a statement that two vehicles were seen driving away from the scene, including a dark coloured Nissan Patrol.

“Police urge anyone with information, relevant dashcam footage or who saw a vehicle matching this description in the area at the time to come forward,” the statement said.

Investigations into that matter are ongoing.

The incident comes following a spate of recent shooting incidents that placed Gold Coast streets into an emergency 20-hour lockdown overnight.

Police were at the scene of a Nerang siege about 3.30pm yesterday, and had warned locals to stay away from the area.

The siege situation was wrapped up about 11.30am Wednesday - following a 20-hour standoff with police.

Sources say two wanted men were inside a Rimu Place property in Nerang, and were believed to be armed with multiple weapons.

The duo may be connected to two earlier shooting incidents in the area.

On Monday, the Arundel police beat - which doubles as an officer’s home - was shot at during a drive-by shooting.

The bullets hit the Police Beat’s wooden front-door and a police vehicle parked outside the property, however no one was injured during the attack.

While in a separate frightening incident on Saturday, a shot was fired into a car carrying a family through Coolangatta.

The 55-year-old male passenger in the vehicle was grazed on the neck by the bullet.

Both incidents sparked a significant response from police, who are investigating whether the incidents are connected.

In a separate incident on Wednesday morning, boxer Justis Hunni’s Sunnybank Hills home was shot at while he and his family were asleep inside.

Fortunately no one was injured, however the incident has sparked a large-scale police investigation as officers declare his Goorong St home a crime scene.
