Brisbane man charged with grievous bodily harm following golf club assault

A man has been struck in the face with a golf club after a noise dispute turned violent in Sunnybank Hills overnight.

A man has been struck in the face with a golf club after a noise dispute turned violent in Sunnybank Hills on Sunday night.

Police have charged a 28-year-old Runcorn man with grievous bodily harm over the alleged attack with occurred in Gowan Rd about 11pm.

It will be alleged the verbal dispute quickly became physical, with the Runcorn man allegedly swinging a golf club at another man, striking him in the face, causing him significant lacerations.

The victim, a 33-year-old Sunnybank Hills man was taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Police arrested the Runcorn man at a nearby home. He remains in custody.

He has been denied police bail and is due to appear in Richlands Magistrates Court today.
