Brisbane constable to face court over allegations he possessed dangerous drugs

A Brisbane constable has been suspended from duties amid allegations he was caught possessing dangerous drugs and a how-to-guide for making drugs.

A Brisbane police officer has been suspended amid allegations he was caught possessing drugs – the second officer to be charged in two weeks for alleged drug offending.

The 29-year-old constable will face Brisbane Magistrates Court next month after being issued with a notice to appear for one count each of possessing dangerous drugs and possessing instructions for producing dangerous drugs.

Queensland Police said in a statement that the officer had been suspended from official duties while investigations continue.

“This does not mean the allegations against the officer have been substantiated,” police said.

It comes only two weeks after another Brisbane region constable was stood down over allegations he supplied drugs.

The 25-year-old was issued a notice to appear for one count of possessing dangerous drugs and two counts of supplying dangerous drugs.

Both officers will appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court in April.
