A 17-year-old boy was in police custody after he drove a stolen car dangerously in peak-hour traffic on the Pacific Motorway yesterday.
The Landrover Range Rover, allegedly stolen from Reedy Creek on the Gold Coast, was driving dangerously along Marine Parade at Labrador about 4.20pm yesterday.
The station wagon was tracked by police helicopter Polair as it was allegedly driven dangerously around a number of residential streets.
Police successfully deployed a tyre deflation device near the intersection of Creek St and the Pacific Motorway at Pimpama.
Police allege the driver continued travelling in a dangerous manner before striking two police vehicles and crashing into a barrier on the Pacific Motorway at Coomera.
A 17-year-old boy was taken into custody without incident.
He has been charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a vehicle, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, possessing dangerous drugs, fail to stop and disqualified driving.
He was due to appear in Southport Children’s Court today.
It will be alleged the Landrover was stolen from Snowwood Street after 9pm on Wednesday, March 30.
