The 13-year-old boy accused of attempting to murder a Coles worker has faced court for allegedly pouring scalding hot milk over a carer just over a month prior to the supermarket incident.
The boy was charged with attempted murder last week after he allegedly stabbed Coles worker Claudia Campomayor Watt in the back with a knife from the supermarket on Monday, January 13.
Today the court heard a request that the matters be listed on the same date.
Ms Campomayor Watt’s family have since confirmed that she is on the road to recovery, whilst her accused has been revealed to have been living in a care home while having “complex needs”.
The boy’s grievous bodily harm charge was briefly mentioned in Ipswich Children’s Court on Tuesday. The boy had been on bail at the time of the alleged Coles stabbing.
He made no appearance, and defence lawyer Kelsea Read indicated law firm MA Kent was seeking to take over his matters from Legal Aid.
The court heard a brief of evidence for the grievous bodily harm matter had already been ordered and partially disclosed to the defence.
But the court heard there were still some statements outstanding, including a number of statements from police and teachers, along with medical records.
The prosecution requested the boy’s grievous bodily harm matter be adjourned to February 25, on the same date as his attempted murder matter.
The boy’s bail was enlarged for his grievous bodily harm charge.
He is currently remanded in custody on the attempted murder - for which he has made no application for bail at this stage.
