A middle-aged Brisbane woman has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly stabbing a man known to her several times at an address in the city’s north.

A Brisbane woman has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly stabbing a man several times at an address in the city’s northern suburbs.
Cathy Joy Fruean, 49, was charged with attempted murder (domestic violence offence) following the wounding incident at a Banyo address on Tuesday afternoon.
Police will allege the woman stabbed a man known to her a number of times with a knife about 3pm.
First aid was applied to the man by police on scene and the woman was apprehended.
The man sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.
The woman, of Banyo, has been charged with one count each of attempt to murder (domestic violence offence) and obstruct a police officer.
She has been denied police bail.
Fruean’s case was mentioned at Brisbane Arrest Court on Wednesday.
She was remanded in custody for the matter’s next mention on Friday at Brisbane Magistrates Court.
