Baby-faced car thief snapped at wheel of stolen car

Police are investigating after photos of a baby-faced alleged car thief were shared on social media following a theft on the Gold Coast.

A picture of a baby-faced thief alongside the car he allegedly stole has been posted on a community Facebook page.

Shock pictures of a young boy behind the wheel of a stolen car on the Gold Coast have been posted online.

The photos, posted on the Qld Crime! Facebook site, show the boy with a bowl haircut barely able to peer above the steering wheel of the Volvo XC40.

The grey 2019 station wagon was stolen from Oxenford last Thursday, according to the Queensland Police Service stolen vehicles database.

“Nothing to see here, just driving himself to school,” one commenter posted on the Facebook page.

“Primary school?” another responded.

Another wrote: “Is he like 8 years old?”

Gold Coast police superintendent Peter Miles said officers were investigating.
