New details have emerged about a lengthy police chase that started south of Brisbane and ended across the NSW border. WATCH THE VIDEO

Is this the world's slowest police chase?

A man and two teenagers have been charged after a dramatic police pursuit that started south of Brisbane and ended over the NSW border.

Two swords, a knife, a tomahawk, cannabis and cash were all seized from the car when the 28-year-old man and 17-year-old and 16-year-old boys were arrested, police confirmed.

Bail has been refused for all three.

The pursuit began after police were called to a Cleveland address on Thursday morning.

A Queensland Police spokeswoman said just before 9.30am police were called to a residence at Shore St in relation to a break and enter.

She said two men then fled the scene in a Mercedes SUV.

Graeme Carmichael, the homeowner where the alleged break in took place, told 9 News he chased two offenders - one of whom he claims was armed with a machete - and tailed them in his car until police took over.

PolAir tracked the car to the state border and it was handed to NSW police.

“About 12.20pm, officers attached to Tweed-Byron Police District commenced a pursuit of a vehicle after it crossed the border from Queensland and allegedly failed to stop as directed,” a NSW Police spokesman said. “Road spikes were deployed at the Cudgen Road Tunnel, near Tweed Valley Way, with the vehicle coming to a stop on the M1 Motorway at Cudgera Creek.”

After the pursuit ended the trio was taken to Tweed Heads Police Station.

Footage streamed by two young men during the chase show one riding shirtless, wearing a pearl necklace on top of the car as he antagonised pursuing officers.

“Gang s--t, you know who’s putting it on the map,” the driver can be heard saying as he brazenly filmed himself driving the stolen Mercedes.

The 17-year-old driver was charged with police pursuit – not stop – drive dangerously, drive motor vehicle while licence suspended, two counts of receive property stolen outside NSW and possess prohibited drug.

The 16-year-old passenger was charged with receive property stolen outside NSW, use offensive weapon to prevent lawful detention, and travel in/on part of vehicle not for passengers/goods.
