Three young teens, including a 13-year-old old, have been charged after a Gold Coast woman was dragged from her car and attacked before the vehicle was stolen.

Three young teens, including a 13-year-old old, have been charged after a 50-year-old Gold Coast woman was dragged from her car and assaulted before the vehicle was stolen on the weekend.

Eight teenagers, aged between 13 and 17 years, were arrested in Inala on Monday after being spotted by POLAIR following the incident which occurred at 4am on Sunday.

The stolen car was spotted in Logan at 3.50pm on Sunday afternoon and tracked to Richlands train station where five teenagers who had exited the car were taken into custody.

The car was seen again at an Inala house where two girls were taken into custody.

Police finally stopped the car using tyre spikes at 5pm on Sunday afternoon on Hillcrest’s Johnson Rd.

It was dumped on Woodridge’s Lawson St and its driver was arrested soon after.

Two cars caught on camera before violent carjacking

Police said a 15-year-old Woodridge boy has been charged with one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, and unlicensed driving.

He was due to face Beenleigh Childrens Court at a later date.

A 13-year-old Inala boy and a 14-year-old Inala girl have both been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle and will face Richlands Childrens Court at a later date.

“Investigations into the five other children detained yesterday are ongoing,” a police spokesman said.

“Investigators continue to appeal for anyone with information about either vehicles or who may have CCTV of the area around the time of the incident to come forward.”

Pacific Pines woman Yoko Abe’s white 2022 Toyota Corolla was hit from behind by another also white Corolla at the intersection of Southport Nerang Road and Ashmore Road.

The second car was allegedly stolen from South Brisbane at 2am Sunday.

Police say the second car overtook the woman before it pulled up in front of her on Ainsley Ave. The group of people jumped out, pulled Ms Abe from her car and attacked her before stealing her car and speeding away, leaving their own damaged vehicle behind.

Dramatic CCTV footage captured the terrified screams of Ms Abe as she was attacked.

The mother was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition with minor injuries.

Ms Abe said the gang of five “punched and kicked me”.

“Someone said ‘grab the key, grab the key,’” she said.

“I have a cut on the lips and then pain in the neck.”
