Blood is splattered across the steps of a Moon St house where a man was stabbed on Saturday afternoon.
Shattered glass, fallen chairs and a smashed television also remained on Sunday morning as evidence of a disturbance in the living room.
The stabbing has been linked to a horror crash between a ute and a police van a short time later.
Police are investigating whether the driver of the ute - who is believed to be responsible for the stabbing - deliberately crashed the ute into the police van.
A detective walked the street interviewing neighbours, some of whom were reduced to tears as they described to reporters the fear of knowing someone was stabbed metres from where their children played.
Moon St resident Gess Messina said a group of people had moved into the house up the road only days before the stabbing on Saturday.
“It’s scary that things like that happen around here all the time,” she said through tears.
Neighbours heard a loud noise before seeing a car had crashed in the street, and police arriving on scene.
Nearby resident Tiana Kirby said tensions were building in the street in the day before the stabbing.
“I heard a lot. A lot of banging, a lot of yelling about 1am of that day,” Ms Kirby said.
“The day before that, there was a lot of yelling and people drinking and they had only been living there about four days.
“So they hadn’t been there long.”
Ms Kirby could see the man who was stabbed carried to an ambulance on a stretcher.
She said friends and family of those involved in the fight tried to gain access to the house as police arrived on scene.
“Police were stopping them, saying they couldn’t go in there,” Ms Kirby said.
“But there was a lot of people, who were angry and aggressive more than anything else.”
Ms Kirby was at times concerned for the safety of her newborn baby.
“I know a couple of neighbours but apart from that it’s not a very friendly neighbourhood,” she said.
