Queensland police have charged a man with grievous bodily harm after a woman was found unresponsive with critical injuries at a Gold Coast address and a child was allegedly abducted initiating an Amber Alert.

Police have charged a 34-year-old Crestmead man following investigations into the alleged strangulation of a woman on Saturday evening, and the taking of a child which initiated an Amber Alert.
Police were called to an apartment complex in Como Crescent at Southport shortly after 5pm following reports of a disturbance.
Police found an unresponsive woman with critical injuries at the scene.
Police will allege the Crestmead man removed an 11-month-old baby boy from the location prior to officers arriving.
The baby was located safe and well around midnight after being taken to Crestmead Police Station.
The man was arrested in Oxley shortly after 12.30am.
A grey Mazda CX9 has been seized by police as part of ongoing investigations.
A 25-year-old woman taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital with life-threatening injuries remains in a critical condition.
The man has been charged with grievous bodily harm, and strangulation, and had bail opposed to appear in the Richlands Magistrates Court on Monday.
Police thanked the media and the public for their assistance in locating the boy.
