A teenager has been cautioned by police after a disturbance at a Fraser Coast private school on Wednesday.

On Wednesday, police were called to Riverside Christian College in response to reports of an armed man.

A concerned parent contacted the Fraser Coast Chronicle on Wednesday, alleging it was the second incident involving a knife on school grounds in recent times, with video of the first shared on Tik Tok.

She said after the incident on Wednesday, her daughter had contacted her.

“My daughter told me they were all hiding under their desks,” she said.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said police did not confirm whether the teen possessed a knife.

“Maryborough Child Protection Investigation Unit detectives investigated reports of a trespass at a Maryborough West school around 10.30m on Wednesday,” a QPS spokeswoman said.

“A 15-yeaar-old local boy was cautioned later that afternoon under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.

“There is no further information.”

Riverside Christian College principal Michelle Gouge said the teen involved had no reason to be on the school campus.

She denied a knife had been involved in the incident.

She said the school had been placed on lockdown and the staff had quickly taken measures to call police and protect students.

Ms Gouge applauded the quick actions of her staff and the police.
