A man accused of looting during Brisbane’s catastrophic flooding event has faced court for the first time.
Dion Kingi Paul, 62, is charged with one count of stealing by looting – in natural disaster.
Police allege Paul stole wheels from Brisbane Auto Wreckers at Rocklea about 7.30pm on March 1.
Rocklea was experiencing significant flooding.
The allegations provide a stark contrast to the devoted family man portrayed on Paul’s social media pages.
Court documents list the occupation of the Wellington born Paul as “house father”.
The 62-year-old appeared in Brisbane Magistrates Court this morning.
