Queensland Police has confirmed a review is underway after a shocking video revealed the moments a police officer repeatedly punched a woman in the face at a Hervey Bay hotel.
The alleged incident happened at the Beach House Hotel in Scarness on December 4.
A concerned member of the public sent the video to the Fraser Coast Chronicle, and described it as “police brutality”.
A Queensland Police Service spokesman said the officers had been called to the venue in relation to an assault matter.
“Queensland Police are aware of the video and the interaction is currently being reviewed,” he said.
“The circumstances filmed on body-worn cameras leading up to the incident will also be reviewed.
“The Queensland Police Service has not received a complaint.
“If anyone has a complaint regarding an interaction with police, they are encouraged to contact Policelink, Ethical Standards Command or Crime and Corruption Commission.”
The spokesman said investigations into the incident were continuing and no charges had been laid.
