‘Gang buster’ female cop shares her stories on True Crime Australia Police Tape podcast, Blue Sirens

The nation’s first senior policewoman to tackle gangs head-on has revealed the highs, lows and dangerous aspects of her career in True Crime Australia’s new Police Tape podcast, Blue Sirens.

Australia’s most prominent female police officers are sharing experiences of their lives on the frontline as part of True Crime Australia’s newest podcast series.

Police Tape Blue Sirens, a five-part series starting Monday, November 18, featuring some of the nation’s top female cops, is being launched following the success of the Police Tape podcast series.

There are currently more than 64,000 police officers nationwide, with more than a quarter being women and holding well-deserved reputations as fearsome and relentless crime fighters.

From deadly bombings to gangland clashes and locking up bikies, Blue Sirens goes behind the scenes in some of their remarkable cases.

The first episode features Detective Superintendent Deborah Wallace – referred to as the “gang buster”.

She is the first woman to head up the NSW State Crime Command Gangs Squad, which takes in Strike force Raptor, the police squad set up to make life hell for outlaw motorcycle gangs.

Detective Superintendent Wallace is at the top of her field commanding hundreds of police officers.

Police Tape Blue Sirens is News Corp Australia’s second co-production enterprise with Nova Entertainment and follows the hugely successful Teacher’s Pet series.

The series, produced also by The Daily Telegraph’s Crime Editor Mark Morri and True Crime Australia’s editors Charles Miranda and Fay Gould, was recorded and filmed inside Australia’s oldest police, courthouse and jail facility at The Rocks in Sydney where the nation’s earliest criminal dark days were played out.

Police Tape: Blue Sirens episode one will be available at True Crime Australia from Monday, 18 November.
