THE jurors who decided Ivan Tesic’s fate were not told police believed he was associated with bikie gangs and that he had earned $2.6 million over the previous three years.
Nor were they told that, days after his arrest, police recorded the now 45-year-old on a prison phone boasting how he wanted to harm the meth courier who had rolled on him.
“I’ll tell you what about tampering with witnesses. I’m going to pull his eyes out of his head,” Tesic allegedly said of the mule on May 6, 2014.
Prosecutors did not tell the nine men and three women on the jury that Tesic was alleged to be a silent part-owner in the Club Liv nightclub on the Gold Coast along with his best mate, bikie Ricky Ciano, at the time of his arrest in April 2014.

Ciano, 35, died in February 2017 and his body was found at Duckmaloi, near Oberon in western NSW, near a makeshift ice lab hidden in a farmhouse.
Last July half-brothers John Jamie Tozer, 33, and Daniel Michael Bushell, 44, were charged with Ciano’s murder.
The jurors were also not told Tesic’s Harley-Davidson had the number plate “FTP” — known to stand for F--- The Police.
And when Tesic was arrested, Gold Coast regional crime co-ordinator Superintendent Dave Hutchinson said Sydney-based Tesic was listed on the National Criminal Targeting Database and was allegedly associated with several bikie gangs including the Rebels, Bandidos, Finks/Mongols and Lone Wolf gang.
The jury would also be surprised to learn Tesic’s previous long-time lawyer who represented him at the previous trial in 2017 is behind bars himself.
Lawyer Ali Abbas has been charged with being an accessory after the fact in the murder of a Sydney boy, 15, who was shot in his bed in April 2017.
There was no evidence about how Tesic’s fiancee Natalie Charalambous — now Natalie Lucas — dumped him after his arrest and began dating his then-lawyer Adam Magill, who then fathered her baby.
In earlier evidence given to Tesic’s bail hearings, NSW Police told the Supreme Court in Brisbane they believed Tesic had “a falling out with members of the Rebels” in 2016.
The court was previously told Tesic’s house at Hoxton Park was shot up about the time of his arrest.
The jury also did not know Tesic loaned $400,000 to ecstasy trafficker Brett Raymond Stevens in August 2008, and a court heard Tesic allegedly tried to stab Stevens in the neck with either a knife or fork after a fight over the loan.
