A US mother who posed topless in a hot tub with her equally topless daughter, 14, has been charged after the photos circulated around local schools.

A US mother who posed topless in a hot tub with her equally topless daughter, 14, has been charged after the photos circulated around local schools.

The woman, 50, and her daughter posed for the photo in Wentzville, Missouri, last month, "covering up their nipples in the picture," TheSmokingGun reports.

The photo, taken by the teenage girl's sister, were "circulated throughout two high schools in the Rockwood School District." As a result, the woman’s son "was ridiculed by classmates for the picture of his mother and sister."

The woman is facing a misdemeanor charge of endangering the welfare of a minor.

The teen girl last year had "court mandated counselling" last year related to "taking photographs of herself nude and circulating it around her high school."

The woman has not been named publicly to protect the identities of her children.
