Swimmers evacuated and beaches closed after shark spotted in Manly

Swimmers and surfers have been evacuated from the water after a drone spotted a shark in a popular Sydney ocean pool.

Swimmers have been evacuated from a popular swimming spot at Manly after reports of a shark sighting.

The shark was reportedly sighted by drones at 10.30am Thursday at the Fairy Bower Sea Pool and Fairy Bower Rockpool, in Manly.

After an hour of searching by lifeguards on jetskis and inflatable rescue crafts, no shark was confirmed to be in the area.

Beaches were closed and swimmers evacuated while the search was underway.

Northern Beaches Council confirmed to NewsWire the beaches have since reopened.
