ROBBIE Farah's spot in the Kangaroos squad has come under fire from some who believe he doesn't even deserve to be at the World Cup - but the Wests Tigers skipper has copped his omission from Tim Sheens' 20-man squad named for the US quarter final with absolute dignity.

Farah says Daly Cherry-Evans "deserved his spot" on the bench for this week's clash against the US and he has vowed not to let his own disappointment distract from Australia's ultimate goal, which is to win the World Cup.

"I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed but I have played the first three games, which I was really happy with, and I was happy with the way I went," Farah said.

"This time Sheensie has gone with Cherry on the bench and there are no hard feelings there.

"When I got picked for the first game, Cheez was really supportive and he has been playing awesome footy when he got his chance and he deserves his spot.

"There is no doubt Cherry would have been disappointed not to get a run first up (against England) but now Sheensie has decided to go with that back-up half on the bench.

"Things could change. He might change game plans depending on who we are facing in the later games.

"From the feedback from Sheensie he has been happy with the way I have gone.

"I really hope the boys do well because at the end of the day this is not about me.

"The main goal is to win the World Cup."

Farah has had to deal his share of criticism already this tour with suggestions he doesn't even deserve to be in the UK playing at the World Cup - and that Roosters hooker Jake Friend should have been in the squad ahead of the Tigers skipper.

Friend had a great year playing behind a great pack at the Roosters, but in fairness to Farah, he was playing behind a pack that had little go-forward and he played above himself during the Tigers' horror seven-match losing streak.

Farah won coach Mick Potter's player of the season and was also called up to captain NSW in Origin when Paul Gallen was ruled out injured.

News_Rich_Media: Sonny Bill Williams says the Kiwis are not happy with how they've played so far, despite Having scored 146 points and conceded only 34 in their pool matches.

Asked if it hurt to hear people say he doesn't deserve to be in the Australian squad, Farah said: "I try not to take too much notice of it. For one reason or another there has always been critics of me whether it be a couple of years back leading into Origin or with this now.

"The thing I have learnt about opinions is they are like, well, you know what. Everyone has one. For me I have learnt to take notice of the opinions of people who matter to me. That's all I can do.

"I don't think I have played better footy than I have in the last couple of years and I think I have proven myself at Origin level and every time I have played for Australia I don't think I have let anyone down."

And Farah won't give up on fighting his way back into the top squad in the countdown to the final on November 30.

"I have got to be ready if anything happens," he said.
