It’s a showcase for the youngest yet brightest talent in rugby and the annual battle between the two top junior academies in the country has just thrown up another big find for the future.

The Waratahs just escaped with the win on the last final play their first battle with their arch rivals from the Reds at Ballymore last month in the annual two-match series between the sides.

And the win was steered by an impressive 15-year-old so talented he made his first Waratahs U15s team when just 14 and played a year up in 2024.

Athletic fullback Lorima Seuseu was the star of the show, scoring a hat trick in the tough encounter which saw the Waratahs just edge the Reds 38-37 after a see-sawing encounter in game one.

“He’s very quick he has great foot work and he is very strong in contact. he was the best player on the field,” said coach Mike Cross.

“He’s in the right place at the right time and makes good decisions.

RED HOT: U15s series decided

“He’s one of the most exciting players I have seen. He’s something else.

“He’s definitely playing again this week and he leads from the front.”

Cross said the young Tahs need to improve defensively to take the win at Forshaw Park on Saturday where they will play ahead of the Super Rugby U16s battle between the Waratahs and Reds.

“What I want to see is them being more accurate on the tackle technique, we need to get them on the ground quicker,” Cross said.
