Triple M radio host Margaux Parker has revealed her husband, NRL legend Corey Parker, had his 2006 premiership ring “taken” during a rowdy Mad Monday event at their home.
Parker was discussing the 2023 premiership ring, designed by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, with Triple M breakfast show co-hosts Greg ‘Marto’ Martin and Dan Anstey on Wednesday morning when she revealed that her husband’s premiership ring was “stolen”.
“Corey’s premiership ring, 2006 premiership ring - I’ll have to find out who designed that - but I know who stole it,” she said.
The “thief” was revealed to be Dolphins and former Broncos player Jarrod Wallace, who swiped the cherished ring from Corey’s trophy cabinet during a boisterous Mad Monday bash, only to forget where he had hidden in.
“Corey had one of those like little trophy cabinets in his man cave,” Parker said.
“They had Mad Monday, because we used to host the Mad Mondays, Jarrod Wallace stole his ring and then lost it, and couldn’t find what he’d done with it.”
Corey Parker received the coveted ring after the Brisbane Broncos won the 2006 Grand Final captained by Darren Lockyer.
The breakfast crew were also not happy with this year’s premiership ring design.
“Albanese Anthony … he’s designing the ring and I don’t like this, because he’s chosen the wattle,” Parker said.
“You know how much I hate the wattle, they leave yellow leaves all over your car and caravan and stains.:
The Prime Minister’s design has incorporated yellow sapphires representing the Commonwealth of Australia Floral Emblem, Golden Wattle.
