WHERE’S the ball?

Oh, there’s the ball.

But it was too late for American college football team Missouri, which was well and truly duped by a cleverly orchestrated Indiana State trick play.

After receiving a kick-off, the Indiana State players formed a huddle, before breaking in all directions in a classic example of misdirection, designed to confuse the opposition as to which player was carrying the ball.

The play, which put Indiana State — at that stage trailing by one point — within field goal range inside the last minute of the game, allowed it to kick the winning points after looking like all hope was lost just moments earlier.

It was almost as impressive as Australian NFL punter Brad Wing’s effort from last week, which saw Wing become the first Aussie to throw for a touchdown.
