The Serbian used a medical time-out to his advantage and appeared emotional when he spotted his kids in the stands during his post-match interview.

Djokovic said he wished it was the final. He’ll face Alexander Zverev in the semis on Thursday night.

Alex de Minaur faces a tough task in his quarter-final on Wednesday night against Jannik Sinner.

The women’s quarter-finals kick off the action on Day 11, with Iga Swiatek favoured to cruise through to the last four.

There are also two all-Aussie pairings in the mixed doubles semi-finals. Olivia Gadecki and John Peers are taking on the second seeds, while John-Patrick Smith and Kimberley Birrell are in the other semi.
