Revenge was sweet for star midfielder Ally Anderson but she won’t be getting carried away by her Lions’ 32-point win over the Bulldogs.

The 22-year old was among Brisbane’s best in the grand final rematch, bagging a game-high 20 disposals to outshine Bulldogs gun Monique Conti and spearhead a firing Lions midfield.

“It was such a great team effort, especially after losing the grand final last year and our last two games, and it’s always nice to fly home after a win,” she said.

“The girls are all up and about after that, so hopefully we can have a good week at training and really use that excitement to head into our next game.”

Anderson deflected personal praise onto the Lions’ latest crop of youngsters and insisted there could be no slacking off ahead of Saturday’s upcoming clash with Geelong.

“I think those younger girls have just come into the squad and fitted in so well — they’ve really stepped up,” Anderson said.

“(But) we probably got a little excited after our first win and didn’t back up (in rounds two and three), so I think it’s important to stay focused.”

A win would see the Lions lock down their third consecutive finals appearance.
