Alyssa Healy seeking a treble of titles in 2019
When Australia hoisted the World T20 trophy, it was the first of three goals Alyssa Healy wanted to achieve this season.

ONE down, two to go.
When Australia hoisted the World T20 trophy in the West Indies last November, Alyssa Healy turned to teammate Ellyse Perry and said that was the first of three titles she wanted this season.
The two play together at national, state and Big Bash level and with the Sydney Sixers taking on the Brisbane Heat in Saturday’s WBBL final, Healy has the chance to check the second box on her championship to-do list.
“After we won the World Cup in the West Indies, I turned to Pez and said, ‘this is the first one of three that I want to win this year’. The World Cup, the WBBL and the WNCL (national 50-over competition),” Healy said.

“We’re working really hard towards that and it would be really nice.
“You can’t win all the time and I’ve been part of very successful teams and you have to take the losses when they come but if you think you’re going to be successful you’re going a long way to doing it.
“Hopefully we can go out there and grab another trophy.”
It was a dramatic qualification for the WBBL final by both teams last week; the Sixers needing a super over to book their spot against Brisbane Heat, who defeated Sydney Thunder on the last ball of their semi-final.
The Sixers won’t be dwelling on that performance. While it was a scare and as close as you can get to missing out, the team this week reverted to “business as usual” and the processes that led them to a top-of-the-table finish after the regular season.
“We actually had training (on Tuesday) and went out and had lunch as a group afterwards in Coogee,” Healy said.
“That was the point we thought we could have a chat about the game and then leave that semi-final parked and move on to the rest of the training this week and looking forward to the Heat.
“We can take bits and pieces out of it but the Heat had pretty much exactly the same semi-final as we did so we’re in a similar boat there … We’ve just got to get the job done on Saturday.”
There have been stand out performances from the Sixers’ big-name players this season, but Healy credits the efforts of the entire team for the club being in their fourth straight decider.
“Sure, we’ve got some firepower but the other girls in our squad are doing some really remarkable things and actually getting us over the line more often than not,” she said.
For Healy herself this weekend she’d love to put some runs on the board after an inconsistent season following her player-of-the-tournament World T20 effort.
She’s aware a valuable contribution can be more than just quickfire scoring, though.
“From my point of view I’m not approaching it any differently,” she said.
“If I can contribute to the team’s success in any way that might be, I know I’ve done my job. Whether that be getting off to a fast start or batting 10 overs and going a run a ball, I have to wait and see what it looks like on the weekend.
“I’d love a big score but in saying that if I make a duck and we make 180 I’ll be pretty happy nonetheless.”
