He will have a final examination on Saturday morning.
Joe Pride’s Guineas contender Superium only arrived in Queensland on Thursday and will also have to undergo a second examination on Saturday morning. Lenz said Superium was found to be short striding in the near fore.
Official gear changes showed Farnan has synthetic hoof filler for the first time, but Bott dismissed that as an issue.
“There’s nothing in it,” he said.
Farnan firmed off the back of a sizzling track gallop at the Gold Coast last week, where Bott said he was even surprised by the times her ran.
Farnan had blinkers on in the workout, but will race without them on Saturday, just as he has in his previous two wins.
“He was very sharp in them, but he’s been so effective and a total professional without them so I don’t think there’s any need for them in his races,” Bott said.
“We wanted it to be a nice sharp workout for him. Rather than him getting there and having a stargaze and not getting the hitout that was required.”
