MOONEE VALLEY (Friday night)
ROD NICHOLSON (Herald Sun). Form: 65119
PETITS FILOUS
Race 7, No. 13
Unbeaten filly who is flying on the track and ready to step up to Group 1. Should lead and skip on corner under light weight.
TAB Fixed Odds: $2.30
MICHAEL MANLEY (Herald Sun). Form: x1312
MAY’S DREAM
Race 3, No. 2
Top mare whose two runs this time in have been sound. Should be ready to fire.
TAB Fixed Odds: $3.50
SIMON MOY (Superracing). Form: 43313
KEEN ARRAY
Race 1, No. 3
Another talented youngster from the Hayes/Dabernig team. Exciting prospect who can return to the winner’s list here and put some cash in the pocket early.
TAB Fixed Odds: $2.70
DANNY RUSSELL (Herald Sun). Form: 10162
THE UNITED STATES
Race 6, No. 5
Quirky but striking chestnut. If Damian Lane can stop him stargazing he will be hard to beat. Drawn well, and has won at the Valley.
TAB Fixed Odds: $3.50
NICK QUINN (TAB). Form: 15122
PETITS FILOUS
Race 7, No. 13
Looks an emerging superstar having won all four career starts, including two at this track. Up in class but thrown in an the weights and worth sticking with going forward.
TAB Fixed Odds: $2.30
RANDWICK (Saturday)
RAY THOMAS (Daily Telegraph)
COMPLACENT
Race 6, No. 1
has been the comeback story of the spring. After a two-year injury-enforced break from racing, he won second-up in the Chelmsford Stakes, beating a star-studded field including Kermadec, then tried hard when third to Preferment in the Hill Stakes. Complacent takes on lesser opposition in the weight-for age Craven Plate and his on-pace racing style takes back luck out of the equation. Back him with confidence.
TAB Fixed Odds: $2.10
STEPHEN ZAMMIT (Daily Telegraph). Form: 4x234
SPEAK FONDLY
Race 8, No. 1
Nobody sparkles more at Randwick on Epsom day than Gai Waterhouse and this filly will give the Fliight Stakes field a real fright. She chased home the brilliant Exosphere last start in the 1400m Rosehill Group 1 Golden Rose and this race has her name all over it. The one to beat.
TAB Fixed Odds: $5.50
SHAYNE O’CASS (The Sportsman). Form: 56536
HAVANA COOLER
Race 9, No. 14
Was $26 in to $15 almost the second TAB Fixed Odds markets went up. Where there’s smoke there’s fire and this horse is about to catch alight. Cast your mind back to his first run at Rosehill, he should have won by a length. Then he was all at sea at Wyong, apparently, he was all over the shop in his action and didn’t go a yard. That’s a worry because he was also a head-case at Rosehill in the Kingston Town running about late but still only 2.2-lengths from Epsom contender Silverball. What price Havana Cooler if Silverball wins the Epsom?
TAB Fixed Odds: $15
DARREN PRENDERGAST (Superracing). Form: 43316
TERRAVISTA
Race 5, No. 1
Cruised to the line under good hold to win a barrier trial at Warwick Farm last week. Will be ready to go after three trials and looks a class above his rivals. Has won four of five first-up runs.
TAB Fixed Odds: $2.10
FLEMINGTON (Sunday)
DARYL TIMMS (Herald Sun). Form: 1x512
OUR IVANHOWE
Race 6, No. 1
German import and Cups hope whose five wins have been between 2200m and 2400m. Ready to show his best.
TAB Fixed Odds: $7
CHRIS VERNUCCIO (Superracing) Form: First starter
DON’T DOUBT MAMMA
Race 5, No. 4
Chautauqua is the obvious at Flemington on Sunday so going to look for value elsewhere. Why can’t Don’t Doubt Mamma win again? She won impressively last start at Caulfield two weeks ago, hitting the line hard after being momentarily held up at the top of the straight. Drawn perfectly in barrier 5 and will stalk the leading pack then unleash her blistering turn of foot.
TAB Fixed Odds: $5.50
DOOMBEN (Saturday)
NATHAN EXELBY (The Courier-Mail). Form: 41131
LORDAG
Race 8, No. 9
Connections have aspirations of heading south for a race on Melbourne Cup day. This is slightly short of his best, but has sprinted well in the past and assured speed means he should get his chance to run on.
TAB Fixed Odds: $10
BRAD DAVIDSON (Gold Coast Bulletin). Form: 11471
LAUTERBRUNNEN
Race 7, No. 10
His run was tremendous last start on the unsuitable soft track and providing the track is dry he should return to the winner’s circle. The $5 on offer seems a great price and he would have went a lot closer last start if the race was run at a genuine tempo.
TAB Fixed Odds: $5
MORPHETTVILLE (Saturday)
BEN SCADDEN (The Advertiser). Form: 31221
SAGAPUSS
Race 8, No. 7
The Phillip Stokes team is in form and this mare showed talent with a good win on this track at her first run for the stable. Scratched from last week to be saved for this and sure to run a bold race.
TAB Fixed Odds: $4.50
LINCOLN MOORE (The Advertiser). Form: 21123
TAMBLYN
Race 2, No. 7
Victorian visitor who has been solid in the market at both outings. Came from a long way back last time, the step out to 1300m looks ideal and he gets his chance.
TAB Fixed Odds: $3.80
