ONE Queensland punter has struck it rich from the Melbourne Cup, winning $457,225 from a $5 investment.
The punter correctly picked the order of the First Four and took the $1 unit five times to cash-in on Fiorente’s stirring win.
TattsBet spokesman Gerard Daffy says it was a stunning piece of punting.
“It was amazing tipping to just go bang, bang, bang, bang in order. The punter has won enough money to buy a house from a $5 investment,’’ Daffy said.
“If they can pass on their tips for Oaks Day it would be greatly appreciated.’’
The news comes after a Victorian punter turnied $1 into $118,652 after getting the Melbourne Cup first four straight out.
The punter correctly selected Fiorente, Red Cadeaux, Mount Athos and Simenon to be the first four horses over the line.
