PUNTERS face a tough challenge trying to solve the riddle of seven runners resuming in today's 1300 Go Broncos Handicap at Eagle Farm.

First up winner Dalton is favourite, but expect support to arrive for several fresh rivals, each of which showed talent last season.

Going Going Gone has been well backed, from a best price of $9 into $6 with TattsBet yesterday. It is the filly's first start for new trainer David Pfeiffer and she hasn't been seen for 245 days.

Similarly, Vienna Queen ($8) has plenty of admirers, but trainer Tony Gollan also rates his first-up winner Epsilon a chance.

"It's a very tricky race, but I'm thrilled my pair have drawn good gates and I'll be disappointed if they aren't right in the finish," he said.

"Vienna Queen is definitely a better filly now than what she was in the winter, where she wasn't far off some good horses, and I know she will handle the track regardless of what condition it comes up.

"Epsilon is definitely city class and probably should be three from three, but we don't know if the track is wet."

Other trainers fear 1000m may be too sharp today.

Rudy showed potential up to a mile last time in and Helen Page was hoping for an overnight downpour.

"They will probably be too speedy over 1000m but if it rains it becomes more like an 1100m or 1200m race and it brings him into it," she said.

Liam Birchley has a good opinion of the stakes placed Nicked And Court, but says her best will come over further.

"Although I couldn't tip her, it wouldn't surprise me at all if she ran a big race. Ultimately she will get a mile or even further, but with good speed in this, I expect her to be hitting the line," Birchley said.

Rob Heathcote had the option of running Neuschwanstein at Caloundra tomorrow, but the rain swayed him to starting today.

"This looks like being way short of his best, but I am taking heart out of his good run at 1000m behind Prussian Heart," Heathcote said.

"He ran about like a drunken soldier and Prussian Heart went on to frank the form quite handsomely.

"He's also by Mossman so the slow track isn't going to bother him at all, as he's shown previously."
