The Everest hope Behemoth will have talented sprinter Parsifal for company when he gallops between races at Morphettville on Saturday.
Goolwa trainer David Jolly has opted for the exhibition gallop in preference to a jump out as preparations continue for the $15 million The Everest at Randwick on October 17.
“They will go over about 1000m and we just want to give him a run up on the bit,” Jolly said.

Behemoth will be sent to Sydney next week, spending a night in Ballarat before being trucked to stables at Hawkesbury.
Given the COVID-19 situation, Jolly won’t travel with the horse to Victoria and will probably fly to Sydney on Saturday.
“We stayed at Hawkesbury the last time we had him up there and it is quite nice,” he said. “He adapted well (to the Sydney clockwise direction of racing) and had a trial last time, so we won’t do anything special with him.”
Morphettville trainer Will Clarken will run Parsifal in a Listed 1200m race at Caulfield on October 14. He said the gelding needed a hitout and Behemoth needed a mate for the gallop, “so we will go with him”.
Parsifal ran second in a Listed 1200m race at Caulfield in October last year, before winning at Moonee Valley. He resumed from a spell last Saturday when third behind Star Hills over 1000m at Morphettville.
“It was a super run,” Clarken said. “He gave the rest of the field some kilos and felt the pinch. Another day at the races will bring him right on.”
Meanwhile, impressive first-up winner Seemingly Discreet is on trial for an assault on Listed races at Morphettville later this year when she races over 1250m.
A sixth win from her past seven starts would earn the mare a start in the City Of Marion Stakes next month and Christmas Handicap in December.
“The 1250m and a gap between races is a query, but her trackwork has been super,” trainer Phillip Stokes’ stable spokesman Tommy Stokes said.
Seemingly Discreet returned to racing with a convincing win at Morphettville on September 5, before being scratched from the Wylie Handicap on the morning of the race two weeks back after being kicked by another horse at trackwork two days earlier.
“There is no problem at all, it was only a minor issue,” Tommy said. “But it was enough to scratch her. She has been working very good.”
