YOUNG gun flanker Angus Scott-Young is today carrying some wise family advice into his grapple with the Kiwis...never blow kisses at the men in black.

The abrasive chip off the old block is the son of former Wallaby backrower Sam Scott-Young who famously blew a kiss and winked at the All Blacks front-row during a pre-Test haka.

Scott-Young, 19, will be a key weapon from 4pm at Bond University when for the Australian Under-20s search for a big lift to challenge their Kiwi counterparts.

Scott-Young won the players’ player award as Australia’s best in their 30-10 loss on Tuesday night when his teammates made a rash of handling errors.

“I do think the Aussies are a chance of turning the tables with better ball control because they definitely play with the right attacking attitude,” Scott-Young senior said.

“The only advice I gave Angus in jest was not to blow ‘em kisses.

“I’ve still got the scar from the 26 stitches that Richard Loe’s boot left in the back of my head at the bottom of a ruck after I blew their All Blacks front-row a kiss (in 1992).”

Scott-Young junior joked he was grateful he had the balance of his mother Donna’s genes in his make-up as well.

“I know dad had a big aggro streak. There’s some of that in my game but I’ve also got mum’s voice to play it cool,” young Scott-Young said.

Melbourne Rebels centre Sione Tuipolotu has been promoted to the Australian Under-20s today as one of five changes.
