ALL Blacks legend Jonah Lomu has left Irish patrons gobsmacked after a hilarious pub prank.

Rugby World Cup sponsors Heineken shot a video of ‘The Jonah Lomu Machine,’ in which the giant rugby winger had squeezed into a pub quiz machine.

As punters approached the machine and answered questions — such as who is the greatest rugby player, Lomu or John Smit — Lomu was hidden inside signing rugby balls as prizes.

Lomu — the leading World Cup tryscorer — added a personal touch with messages such as “to Karl, like the beard. Jonah,” “to Kendra, love the top. Jonah,” and “to Simon, it’s hot in here. Jonah.”

Not surprisingly, the patrons were getting progressively more baffled.

But the game was up when Ireland rugby great Shane Horgan arrived and ordered Lomu out of the machine by saying: “Jonah, your shift’s over.”

As Lomu emerged, the stunned pub punters erupted in applause.

“The Irish are known for their sense of humour across the world, so I was delighted to put that to the test,” Lomu said.

“Seeing peoples’ faces as they tried to figure out what was going on was a real highlight.”
