Five things we learned from Wallabies v Pumas in Brisbane:
50-50S MUST END NOW
There’s a difference between playing an up tempo brand of attacking rugby and copying the Harlem Globetrotters – but try telling the Wallabies that. Yet again Australia was guilty of trying to push passes, pop up off the deck and throw 50-50s that unsurprisingly failed to come off.
PUMAS STILL EVOLVING
It’s incredible to see how far Argentina has come from 10-man rugby to their Fiji-esque offloading style. The Pumas are second only to the All Blacks for running support lines and should be at the business end of the World Cup – possibly at England and France’s expense.

BEALE OUR #15 FIX
The fullback conundrum has finally been solved. Kurtley Beale proved he’s more than a supersub with an assured performance against the Pumas and has done enough to retain his starting berth for the upcoming Bledisloe series.
KURIDRANI’S WOBBLES
While the likes of Leali’ifano, Kerevi and Koroibete fired, the same can’t be said of Tevita Kuridrani. Now a veteran of 60 Tests, the big TK was mostly a passenger against the Pumas. Unlikley to lose his spot but Cheika will be worried.
SUPER SCRUM SUBS
Let’s give a hand to James Slipper and Taniela Tupou. The two replacement props were unstoppable at set piece and forced 4 penalties between them – Kepu and Sio should be on high alert.
