IT was another big year in Queensland sport, from the ascension of the Lions to the rollercoaster ride at the Broncos, the ongoing struggles of footy teams on the Gold Coast and the continued dominance of the Sunshine Coast Lightning.

We saw Ash Barty reign supreme in France, Jeff Horn rise and fall and rise again, and Valentine Holmes try his hand at the American game before coming home to Townsville.
