Elite Aussie swimming couple splurges on new home

The $1.8m property boasts five-bedrooms, three-bathrooms and a swimming pool. The pair took the big step as they celebrated their one year anniversary.

Singer-songwriter turned swimmer Cody Simpson and his Olympian partner Emma McKeon now call the Gold Coast suburb of Labrador home, splashing the cash to secure a five-bedroom, three-bathroom, two-storey house.

The pair celebrated their one-year anniversary early in April, having started dating as the pair trained ahead of the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games.

They also appear to have already moved into the property, with 28-year-old McKeon snapping a picture by the new eight-by-four metre concrete pool during the Easter break.

According to listing agent Amir Prestige, the 506sqm block sold for $1,826,000 and boasts “no-expense-spared finishes” and “epitomises laidback, modern luxury”.

McKeon is currently competing at the Australian Swimming Championships on the Gold Coast.

On Monday night she was upstaged by Mollie O’Callaghan, who just scraped home against Shayna Jack in the 100m freestyle final, with McKeon finishing third.

Simpson is also competing at the Championships, finishing 10th in the Men’s 50m Fly on the first night of the competition.

The 26-year-old shot to fame in 2010 thanks to his music career and has since released four studio albums, but pivoted to swimming in 2019.
