HAROLD MATTHEWS

SAXON GAW (NORTH SYDNEY)

Masterful display from the Bears five-eighth who is determined to lift them into the finals.

Took over the game with two tries and two try assists as he willed them back from 12-0 down to a season-saving victory at Redfern Oval.

His second saw him skip across field and completely bamboozle the defence with his footwork.

JAXON BALLINGER (ILLAWARRA)

Scored both of Illawarra’s tries in their last-ditch win over St George, including a 90m effort that had the home fans on their feet.

With the Dragons ahead and attacking the line, Ballinger took the risk and picked off a pass to run the length. Had he got it wrong St George was over again.

ASHTON ALLEN (NEWCASTLE)

A big game from the big man in the middle who is always willing to get in and do the hard yards.

Got through plenty of work and was rewarded late when he proved too big and strong to seal a big win for the Knights.

CARTER MAREKO (CENTRAL COAST)

Was the architect early as the Central Coast raced out to a big lead over the Bulldogs.

His timing at the line was first class as he held the defence up and targeted the opposition’s left-hand defence with pointed raids.

Kicking very well for goal as well.

CHARLIE WEBB (SYD ROOSTERS)

When the game was on the line it was the son of former Warrior Brent Webb who stood tall.

Linked beautifully with halves partner Lachlan Metcalfe to set him up for a stunning 50m effort, before a deft grubber at the line put Ravai Tulevu over under the sticks to seal the victory.

LISA FIAOLA

RANEH SITEINE (CANTERBURY)

Six tries will impress most fans, and it certainly impressed us.

In her first appearance in Canterbury’s top XIII, Raneh made a dream start and never let up, crossing for a hat-trick in each half as the Bulldogs ran roughshod over the Rabbitohs.

LEONIA VEI (PARRAMATTA)

Often among the Eels’ best every week, Leonia’s headgear makes the tearaway prop easy to spot as she rips in from the get-go.

Made a point of picking apart Penrith’s middle and helped lay the platform with an early try before Parramatta kicked on with a statement victory.

TAHIRA ARMEDA (NORTH SYDNEY)

A cornerstone in North Sydney’s breakthrough victory, Tahira was at her inspirational best in orchestrating a mighty second half comeback.

A major threat on the left edge, the backrower muscled across to get Norths within touching distance. Then with the game in the balance, she chased down a kick and delivered the final pass for the winning try.

STELLA HALL (CENTRAL COAST)

The Roosters fullback was in sublime touch during the opening stages of the Central Coast’s win over Canberra.

Chiming into the backline, the No.1 picked apart the Raiders’ right edge defence and threw the final pass for the opening two tries.

RHIANNA KARIKA (CRONULLA)

A key player in two of Cronulla’s three tries, the edge back rower mixed skill with raw power.

Instigated a short side raid to get the Sharks on the board, and put the result beyond doubt after halftime when she took on the line from close range.

SG BALL

XAVIER TAUAIFAIGA (BALMAIN)

The booming Balmain centre tormented the Bulldogs all afternoon in the Tigers’ come from behind win at Leichhardt.

Showed strength to burrow across for tries either side of halftime and displayed skill and speed to set up a long range classic in front of the hill.

JAXSON ALLEN (SYDNEY ROOSTERS)

The Roosters downed the Sharks with four tries, and the scheming No.9 had his fingerprints on each of them.

A general around the ruck, he opened the door for three big boppers to crash over from close range before sealing the result with a kick-chase solo effort under the posts.

AMAZIAH MURGHA (MELBOURNE)

If you haven’t witnessed Amaziah Murgha in full flight, you’re truly missing out.

A human highlight reel, the electric Storm fullback is slipperier than a greased pig. Torched Penrith all day and bagged a hat-trick, including a scintillating length of the field solo effort.

ARCHIE DUNCOMBE (WESTERN SUBURBS)

With Wests’ season hanging in the balance against a determined Warriors, the Magpies skipper stepped up with a true captain’s knock.

Ran a perfect line to get his side within touching distance and backed it up, laying on the pass for the winning try.

LORENZO TALATAINA (PARRAMATTA)

The Eels five-eighth was everywhere in Parramatta’s top of the table victory over Canberra.

Bobbed up on both sides of the ruck and was influential in all five of his side’s tries. A slashing solo effort pushed the margin to 12 and effectively put the Raiders to bed.

TARSHA GALE

RUBY JEFFRIES (MANLY)

It hasn’t been an ideal season for the Sea Eagles, but Jeffries provided their highlight of 2025 so far when she helped her team land a late point against Norths.

A pin-point chip over the top of a Bears defender allowed Jaydanaye Anguna to touch down.

Also set up the opener with a lovely step and pass at the line to put Kassidy Kahotea over.

HOLLY WILLIAMS (CANBERRA)

An unsung hero in this Canberra side with the centre coming up with some clutch plays to help them cause an upset over the Roosters.

Caused havoc on the edges that directly helped set up two tries, with the second involving a spectacular effort to chip inside while being dragged over the touch-line.

JULIE NOTISE (PENRITH)

The hard-running edge forward did exactly that with a dominant second half to help Penrith overcome Parramatta.

She scored a double as a result of her sheer strength and line-running, in a win that could’ve sealed a finals spot for the Panthers.

JOSINAH FILISI TAUILIILI (CANTERBURY)

With oppositions stepping up their forward packs this season, the Bulldogs gave everyone a reminder as they steamrolled through the Rabbitohs.

Tauiliili was unstoppable as she ran rampant with four tries, a pretty rare feat for a front rower.

JESSICA STEVENS (ST GEORGE)

In a beaten side, Stevens was exceptional for the Dragons as they continue to improve with every outing.

She set up both of St George’s tries, one through the hands and the other with a perfectly-timed kick through the line.

Both were pounced upon by Ana Ahmat as they form a dynamic duo.
