‘We’re forever grateful’: Ramien’s positive update after $130k Bali baby nightmare

Sharks star Jesse Ramien has revealed he’s “forever grateful” as he shared a major update following a Bali baby nightmare.

Sharks gun Jesse Ramien has revealed he’s “forever grateful” for the support he and his fiancee Shell were given after their baby boy Teo was born six weeks premature in Bali.

According to The Daily Telegraph, Teo needed to be resuscitated for five minutes in a hospital before the couple had to organise a care flight to get their son back to Australia.

Ramien contacted the Australian embassy in Indonesia for assistance, with the bill of that flight reportedly costing around $130,000.

A GoFundMe page was set up by Shavaun Hunt, the partner of Royce Hunt, with around $59,000 raised to assist the couple is safely returning their son home.

“We’re back home in Australia now and we just want to say thankyou to all our friends, family and everyone who reached out, sent a message, liked, shared, donated and done anything to help out in anyway,” Ramien said

“We couldn’t have done it without everyone and we couldn’t have got home without everyone’s support.

“A massive thankyou to all my teammates that were in Bali, who helped us out in that tough time. We’re forever grateful and we definitely felt the love for sure.”

CareFlight operator NETS was reportedly the company that the Ramien’s employed, with baby Teo travelling under the eye of doctors.

The Ramiens travelled to Bali for the wedding of teammate Briton Nikora, with Shell being given clearance from medical professionals to travel.

Shell went into early labour two weeks ago, and had to undergo an emergency C-section.

Players that donated to the GoFundMe page include Connor Tracey, Hame Sele, Nicho Hynes and Blayke Brailey.
