THE Titans produced a stunning 30 — point turnaround to bring the Wests Tigers crashing back to earth.
Here's what we learned from the 30-18 win at Cbus Super Stadium on Saturday night.
1. Josh Hoffman’s development as a centre will take time. Hoffman went looking for the ball in the middle of the field and produced a line break to set up Ashley Taylor’s first NRL try.
2. There is no doubt David Mead is the Gold Coast’s most dangerous fullback with the ball but he has work to do on his defence. Mead made a bad error in letting a bomb bounce which led to a try for the Tigers.
3. The Titans are going to have plenty of teething problems with their young backline but if they can find some improvement along the way from the likes of Ashley Taylor, Nene Macdonald and John Olive it will put the club in good stead.
4. Titans forward Ryan James had his best game of the season, scoring a try and running for more than 150m off the bench. James has undoubted talent but needs to reduce the gap between his good and bad performances.
5. The Titans are starting to make Cbus Super Stadium a fortress again. They have won their past five home games and need to continue the strong form to bring the crowds back.
