TITANS prop Jarrod Wallace could be headed for the exits after coach Garth Brennan declared he was ready to farewell any players that didn’t want to be at the Gold Coast.
Wallace toured Newcastle’s set up on Thursday as his contract stalemate with the Titans continued ahead of tonight’s clash against Melbourne at Suncorp Stadium.
The State of Origin star has received a mega four-year offer from the Titans worth more than $2.5 million to remain at the club until 2022.
However Wallace is yet to take up the deal, opting to explore his options before committing to the Gold Coast.
In his first season at the Titans, Brennan said he was open to releasing any players that did not fit into the culture he was trying to build.
“I’m not sure (if Wallace will stay),” Brennan said.
“It’s up to him and his management. It’s out our hands. We’ve made a good offer.
“If someone doesn’t want to be here … I don’t care who it is, from player one to thirty in our roster, then they can leave.
“I want players that are here for the right reasons. That builds the right culture in a football team that you want.
“I’m not saying I want to let them go because they’re not talented, I think our roster is talented.
“If they want to leave for other reasons, whether that be money, then that’s fine.
“I only want people here for the right reasons and that hasn’t changed.

“Jarrod’s my priority but if he wasn’t to stay there are options out there we can move towards. It’s about bringing the right people to the club for the right reasons.”
Wallace, 26, privately approached the Broncos about the possibility of returning to Brisbane next season but was knocked back.
The Sharks are believed to be interested in snaring the incumbent Queensland Origin forward and he has a one-year option worth $500,000 in his favour to stay at the Titans in 2019.
Wallace is seeking an upgraded deal for 2019 and beyond and Titans skipper Ryan James said he hoped the club could come to an agreement with his front row sparring partner.
“I’d love J-Wal to stay,” he said.
“I played junior footy here with him. I think he’s a class player.
“He’s a Queensland front rower and it’d be extremely sad to see him go.”
If the Titans lose Wallace, the club is prepared to pounce on Canberra Test prop Shannon Boyd.
“I’ve played footy with Shannon in the NSW Country side,” James said.
“He is another big body. Hopefully J-Wal can stay on the coast and we can have both of them.”
