IT seems pretty clear that there’s far more going wrong at the Titans than just Jarryd Hayne. here’s five things we learned from Gold Coast’s 30-8 loss to Parramatta.
1) Jarryd Hayne is not the sole problem at the Gold Coast Titans. Hayne has copped the brunt of criticism for the Titans’ woes recently following his public feud with coach Neil Henry. He was missing on Thursday night and while the Titans were gallant, they still lacked cohesion and polish.

2) It took a week of turmoil and their coach’s future to come under the microscope for the Titans to fire up and have a crack. The Titans went into the game on a four-match losing streak of which the past three were woeful efforts. They never really threatened the Eels but at least showed some spirit.
3) Henry stuck with his best halves combination of Tyrone Roberts and Ashley Taylor but they only spent seven minutes together. John Olive’s elbow injury meant Roberts had to shift to fullback, putting the unsuccessful duo of Taylor and Kane Elgey back together.
4) Ryan James has not run with any venom in 2017. James scored 12 tries last season, a record for a front rower in the NRL, but has only crossed three times this year. He is playing big minutes but the Titans could do with some spark from their captain.
5) They have been poor for most of the season but the Titans had little love from the officials last night. How The Bunker allowed Semi Radradra to score following a sloppy incident where he appeared to knock the ball on is anyone’s guess.
