WESTS Tigers halfback Luke Brooks has been ruled out of Monday night’s NRL clash with Parramatta due to a shoulder injury.

Brooks suffered the injury in last week’s loss to Penrith and his place will be taken by former St George Illawarra half Josh Drinkwater, who will make his club debut in the match at ANZ Stadium.

“He (Brooks) made a tackle just after halftime, and he struggled through the game and finished the game, but it’s been sore all week,” said coach Jason Taylor on Sunday.

“He was a chance. It wasn’t until this morning that he’s finally been ruled out.

“If Luke was going to be right to play he would trained with us for the first time today, so Josh has trained with us all week.”

The Tigers have the bye next week and Taylor is confident Brooks will be fit for the game against Brisbane at Suncorp Stadium in a fortnight.
