CAN anybody stop the Semi Trailer?

Parramatta’s giant Fijian winger Semi Radradra Monday night bagged a double to help the Eels to a 28-16 victory over the Wests Tigers.

The victory keeps Parramatta’s finals hopes alive.

For Radradra, it was his fifth straight game where he bagged at least a double, starting with his two tries against Penrith, then the Cowboys, then Melbourne, and a hat-trick against the Dragons.

His tally now stands at a whopping 16 tries in just 10 games.

Had he not broken down with a knee injury and missed six weeks earlier this season, you have to wonder if the Eels would be sitting a little higher up the ladder than they are.

Parramatta are now eleventh, but more importantly just one win outside the eight.

“Every week I come out and I want to score a try and help the boys,’’ the quietly-spoken Radradra said after the game.

“It takes a lot of hard work.’’

Parramatta have now racked up three wins on the trot, and head into the bye round on a high.

The thought of Radradra terrorising opponents on the left wing the remaining two months will also give long-suffering Eels’ fans reason to believe.

His first try he simply caught a Corey Norman bomb approaching the hour. His second was being on the end of some slick passing. He celebrated with a little punch in the air, even though the 15,347 fans at ANZ Stadium weren’t entirely aware of the milestone.

Coach Brad Arthur knows he’s got a genuine attacking weapon in Radradra out wide, a player whose first half against the Tigers he labelled ‘’not great’’.

“But to his credit he aimed up better in the second half,’’ Arthur said.

“Semi has been really good for us scoring tries, but we’ve been working hard with him on little bits and pieces (he can improve) in his game.

“There’s no point giving Semi the ball if he hasn’t got space, or there are defenders climbing all over him. We need to create opportunities, and it starts with our forwards carrying the ball nice and hard through the middle.’’

The Eels went to the break trailing 16-12 after racing out to a 12-0 lead. Radradra was actually stood up by his Fijian opposite Kevin Naiqama for a soft try, and was visibly dirty with himself for the blunder.

The Tigers looked good when they held the ball, especially with fullback James Tedesco in full flight.

If it wasn’t for Tedesco or Origin prop Aaron Woods, Tigers fans’ would be flat out getting enthused for the remaining two months.

A shocking lopsided penalty count made life tough for the Tigers in the second half.

Taylor said his team produced a ‘’strong performance’’, and they continued to focus on the long-term, rather than competition ladder, which has them equal last.

As for stopping Radradra, Taylor said: “They play to his side, that’s the way Parramatta play ... they load up that left side and try hard to give him the ball. I was disappointed with the one he scored on end of passing sequence that went out there.’’
