CRAIG Bellamy has confirmed he will use the bye week to assess his future at the Storm, but says he will not be rushed into a final decision on where he will coach beyond this season.
The Melbourne mentor dominated headlines this week after it was revealed that the Broncos had approached Bellamy to eventually replace Wayne Bennett as the head coach at Brisbane.
Bellamy is off-contract with the Storm at the end of this season and the club have tabled him an offer for a further three years.
But Broncos CEO Paul White has also expressed interest in bringing Bellamy back to Brisbane in 2020, after Bennett’s final season in 2019.
The Storm coach said on Wednesday that he hadn’t looked at Melbourne’s offer yet, but was planning to do so during his side’s bye round this week.
After their Friday night win over the Cowboys, Bellamy confirmed that was still his plan, but warned it did not mean a decision would be made immediately.

“Yes, it is (still the plan),” Bellamy said.
“If it takes two weeks, it will take two weeks. If it takes three, it will take three.
“There was a bit of a bushfire during the week (after the news broke). I’m not quite sure why it was that big but at the end of the day, I honestly haven’t given it too much thought.
“I’ve just been trying to do my job with the players and the team. We’ll give it a bit of time to have a bit of a think and hopefully we’ll be a little bit closer to a decision in the near future.”
The news that Bellamy could be considering a move to the Broncos proved to not be a distraction for the Storm, after they notched up their seventh win of the season against the Cowboys.
Despite the bye, the club are still expected to train at the start of this week before enjoying a four-day break.
