Rugby league will take a walk back to the days of the $10 match ticket for the Magic Round standalone game on Thursday, May 9 at Suncorp Stadium.

The NRL says a club member can watch all eight matches in the Magic Round, from May 9-12, from $85 each, with an entry-level price of $99 for members of the general public.

The Titans-Sharks clash on the Thursday night has been designated a charity night, with ticket customers having the opportunity to nominate which one of the NRL’s community charities the $10 proceeds will go towards.

The NRL expects over 150,000 fans to go through the gates over the weekend.

The NRL said tickets for the Magic Round, at which all 16 clubs will play at Suncorp Stadium, would go on sale on Monday at 9am (Queensland time) for NRL club members, with members of the public able to buy tickets on Tuesday.

While prime seats will be more expensive, three-day club member passes for the seven matches between Friday–Sunday will start from $75 for single tickets, with an entry-level price of $89 for members of the public.

Single-day tickets for one spectator will be the same for the two double-headers and also Saturday’s triple header - from $75 (club members) and $89 (general public).

Club members also get a $10 discount from the $95 single-day family tickets available to the public.

NRL CEO Todd Greenberg promised in July when announcing the inaugural Magic Round in the competition that affordability would be a key concern to maximise the number of people who watched matches.

The NRL will want well over 150,000 tickets to be sold for the four days at the 52,500-seat stadium.

Greenberg encouraged Sydney club supporters to travel to Brisbane rather than complain about NRL matches being in their city over the weekend.
