GLENN Hall has admitted his future is in doubt, with the veteran forward saying he may be forced to put himself on the open market with the Cowboys stalling on a new deal.
Hall, 33, told The Sunday Mail he is hopeful of snaring a new one-year deal that will see him finish his career in north Queensland — but will return to Sydney for a swan song year should his club fail to make a formal offer soon.
The Cowboys are targeting several high-profile forwards — including Hall’s former teammate Anthony Watmough — and have put retention on hold.
Hall, the unsung hero of the Cowboys pack, said he was in career-best form and raring for another season in the NRL.

“I feel great and I’m not ready to call it quits yet,’’ Hall said.
“The body feels great and I think I am playing very good, very consistent football so I will definitely go around again.”
Hall said he would reluctantly put himself on the open market if he was forced to.
“I don’t want to leave,’’ Hall said. “North Queensland is my home now and this is where I want to raise my family.
“I intend to live here for the rest of my life. But I’m also determined to keep on playing in the NRL so if I have to move back to Sydney for a year or two, I will.”
Hall began his career with the Bulldogs before being recruited by the Sea Eagles. He joined the Cowboys after a short stint in the English Super League.
