COREY Parker’s gutsy performance for the Broncos in the one-point loss to Penrith in round 18 has won plaudits from NRL fans.
Parker was backing up from State of Origin III, in which he was man of the match, and copped a head knock in the first half against the Panthers, forcing him to have a concussion test in the dressing room.
The veteran forward returned and was a tireless worker in the 35-34 loss, rattling up 130m, 43 tackles and an eye-catching five offloads.
One in three Broncos fans who responded to our weekly Fan Favourite surveys rewarded Parker with an eight-out-of-10 ranking while another 13 per cent gave him a nine.
Parker’s ratings were easily the top scores among Broncos players in Monday Night Football although Justin Hodges (29 per cent), Ben Hunt (27), Alex Glenn (27) and Sam Thaiday (23) received pass marks of seven.
We got Damien Stannard to rate the Titans players after the loss to the Raiders so we could see where the fans were heading and the scores were remarkably similar, except when it came to lock Paul Carter and halfback Albert Kelly.
Stannard rated Carter an eight but the majority of fans who responded scored him only a six. Kelly got a five from Stannard but the fans rated him the best Titans on the field with an eight.
The rest of the ratings were pretty much in line.

In round 19, the Cowboys head down to Sydney to take on the Sharks on Friday night, the Broncos host the Warriors on Saturday night and the Titans will face the emotion-charged Knights in Newcastle on Sunday.
