THE Broncos’ forward depth is set to be tested yet again, after Josh McGuire was slapped with a contrary conduct charge for pulling Adam Elliott’s hair in Brisbane’s loss to Canterbury on Thursday.
McGuire is facing at least one week on the sideline for the incident, meaning he is in danger of missing his side’s must-win derby clash against the Cowboys next week.
He was seen pulling Elliott’s hair in the 24th minute of the loss in Sydney.
He could miss two matches if he fights the charge and loses.
It is the third time this year McGuire has been hit with a contrary conduct charge but he was fined for the two previous incidents.

McGuire first earned the ire of the match review committee in round 14 of this year when he was charged with stomping on the hand of Melbourne’s Tim Glasby. He then copped a second fine three weeks ago for making contact with a match official in his team’s round 18 loss to the Warriors.
He was spotted pulling the hair of Penrith forward Corey Harawira-Naera a fortnight ago, but was not charged.
McGuire is the second Bronco to be picked up for such an offence in the past month, given Anthony Milford was also fined for a hair pull in the same defeat of the Panthers.
