MANY thought the Broncos v Tigers would be the perfect VC loophole option with Anthony Milford but it wasn’t to be as the visitors pounced on the undermanned Brisbane to snatch and crucial on the road win.

Here’s the wrap of those who stepped up and those who struggled in Friday night footy.

TIGERS

Elijah Taylor (83): ‘ET’ has found a home at the Wests Tigers. He made a solid 45 tackles and once again played more of a ball-playing role during his 69 minutes. Boosted his score with a try and line-break off a Luke Brooks (65) inside ball. Taylor will bust through the $300,000 barrier after beating his breakeven by 50 points.

Tim Simona got one meat pie and just missed another.

Tim Simona (82): Took his 1,644 owners for a rollercoaster ride scoring a try and setting up another but couldn’t finish the easiest of opportunities to score a second. Nevertheless, Simona got the job done as a POD and has brought in a most valuable 82 points pre-updates.

Josh Addo-Carr (67): Was the most popular trade-in target and didn’t disappoint coming alive in the second half breaking the line twice and grabbing a try. Regardless of whether or not he plays again in the short term, his price will soar this week and his owners will enjoy an initial price rise of over $73,000 from the Tigers’ flyer who definitely doesn’t mind hamming it up every time he scores a try.

Chris Lawrence proved a decent POD.

Chris Lawrence (53): Has only averaged 41 in his past three games but is another who did his job as a POD for four per cent of SuperCoaches who own the dual positioned (2RF/CTW) second-rower. Lawrence made 15 hit-ups, 3 tackle busts and 23 tackles.

Josh Aloiai (24): Continues to be a deadset punish for his 21,911 owners after another 31-minute stint. Aloiai has scored this season with a respectable PPM of 0.9 but the starting 2RF is just not getting the minutes to make any serious impact.

BRONCOS

James Roberts (58): Scored a try with a line-break and busted 5 tackles during his 9 runs. Jimmy the Jet could find himself traded out of a host of the 13.9 per cent of teams in which he holds a spot, due to the fact he will drop another $16,000 this week if he holds on to this current score, which will leave his price more than $50,000 less than his starting price for this season.

Ben Hunt (57): Set up two tries, one with his boot, the other with an effective offload and a line-break assist. Hunt is expected to drop in value by another $14,000 this week and will come with a price tag of around $410,000 next week.

Jarrod Wallace benefited from increased minutes. Pic Darren England.

Jarrod Wallace (54): Scored at just under a point per minute and was the main benefactor of extra minutes in the Broncos forward pack. Wallace played 56 minutes of the game, which is 24 more than his season average, and made 35 tackles and 11 hit-ups of which 9 exceeded the 8m mark.

Anthony Milford (37): Many of his 47,649 owners had hoped to use the ‘VC loophole’ this weekend and had pinned their hopes on Milford to make it happen. However, it was not to be and the little wizard, who until this round had averaged 82 points a game, was disappointing for the second week in a row. Even though he has only averaged 28 over the past fortnight, it would be a mistake to even let the idea of selling him stay in your mind for longer than a second.

Jo Ofahengaue (33): Played the first 30 minutes and scored with a PPM over 1 as a result of 7 hit-ups, 18 tackles and a tackle bust but didn’t return for the remainder of the game after being subbed.

Jai Arrow (28): Made 22 tackles and three hit-ups over 8m to score at just over a point a minute, but Wayne Bennett’s reputation of slowly blooding his young forwards looks as if it will stop this Arrow from hitting any SuperCoach bullseyes any time soon.

Kodi Nikorima (20): It was another SuperCoach kick in the you know whats for the 22,073 players who fell for the second Nikorima trap of the season. Nikorima only played 32 minutes and has firmly implanted himself on the SC poison list unless he gets more time in the coming weeks with McCullough injured again.
