IT’S only round two but an unlikely SuperCoach force in 2016 may have been discovered.

Here are 10 things we learned:

— In 2014 it was Ben Hunt, last year it was Roger Tuivasa-Sheck and Semi Radradra, but despite only being two rounds into the competition, Moses Mbye (141) is in red hot form and is showing all the signs that he could be one of the biggest SuperCoach forces in 2016. Two tries and four assists in two games has seen the new Bulldogs halfback average 114 points for the first two rounds. Regardless of whether he keeps up this form, he will easily make owners between $50,000 to upwards of $100,000 over the next few weeks if he hits his projected totals.

- In years gone by Corey Parker (60) has been a no-brainer, set and forget captain choice that has delivered ultra-consistent scores for his adoring owners. Although the great man is still a must-have in our teams, he is no longer the ‘safe as houses’ choice for captain. It appears as if Wayne Bennett utilises Parker dependant on how close the game is and whether or not he feels like the Broncos are in control. In round one, Parker played 62 minutes but in round two when the Broncos appeared to be in control in the last quarter of the game, he was allowed to put his feet up and enjoy a lighter evening of only 50 minutes. Consistency is the key when choosing a captain and although Parker’s scores have been consistent, his minutes haven’t and this makes him a riskier captain choice.

— Whilst on the topic of captain choice, Sam Burgess sent a message loud and clear to his 51.7 per cent of owners that orange is his favourite colour and that he is back with vengeance, ready to be your regular captain selection. Big Sammy will certainly wear our orange captain square with pride if he continues to play 77 minutes a game at lock as he did this week.

- Thousands of coaches will struggle with ‘SuperCoach Maths 101’ this week when the harsh reality dawns on them that they can’t fit the four trades they want to make, into the two trades they are allowed to make. Of all the weeks in the SC calendar, this will be one of those weeks that requires the most research on SuperCoach Gold to bring in the players that will increase your salary cap as much as possible over the next month. It cannot be stressed enough for both overall and head-to-head players how important the next four weeks are to make money before we start thinking about the bye period.

— Despite starting the season on a very strong note, Corey Oates (79.5 avg) and Nathan Peats (69.5 avg) have both sustained injuries that are expected to keep them sidelined for the majority of the next month of the competition. This has created an enormous headache for their owners as both of these players will increase in value nicely next game they play if they hit their projection and they both have a draw that sees them play during the bye period.

— A host of cheapies impressed once again and owners are licking their lips at the prospect these early season cash cows will bring to their teams when they make them bucket loads of cash in the oncoming weeks. Paul Carter (66.5 avg), Cody Walker (65.5 avg), Hymel Hunt (61.5 avg), Pat Mata’utia (57.5 avg), Jackson Hastings (56.5 avg), Sam Mataora (51.5 avg), Nathan Davis (50 avg), Jayden Nikorima (49 avg) and Daniel Saifiti (48.5 avg) are among the players in the cheapie range who are set to make money just by stepping on the field next round.

— After James Segeyaro suffered a broken arm last week many SuperCoaches tried to get creative with their hooker choice rather than find the extra $30, 900 needed to upgrade to Cameron Smith. Those who upgraded to the Australian hooker sat back this round and enjoyed a SuperCoach masterclass put on by the best hooker in the competition. Smith posted a reliable 83 points which were made up from a try assist, a last touch, 5 goals, 35 tackles and a handy extra 10 points for a forty-twenty.

— After a poor start to the year, the Warriors desperately need a spark. SuperCoaches world wide are hoping Konrad Hurrell is that spark. Hurrell knows how to find his way to the try line and is under valued at $266,600 after playing limited minutes in the back half of last year.

— Billy Slater owners were left high and dry after the Queensland fullback was a late withdrawal due to complications with the injured shoulder that kept him sidelined for the back half of last year. Owners will have to decide whether to downgrade him to a cheapie, upgrade him to a gun or hold strong with him, hope he makes a quick return and have themselves a high-quality POD when he next takes the field.

— Kane Evans was predicted by many to be one of the mid-priced, early season money makers and was expected to see a big increase in minutes due to injuries to key forwards Jared Waerea-Hargreaves and Boyd Cordner. Despite maintaining his very busy workload and scoring at over a point per minute, he has only averaged 42 minutes for the first two rounds. Owners may decide to move him over the next few weeks unless Dylan Napa is suspended after being put on report this week.
