SuperCoach NRL: CODE Sports experts’ consensus team

No time to pick your own SuperCoach NRL team? Our experts have done all the work for you right here. CHECK OUT THE CONSENSUS TEAM

SuperCoach NRL | Team list Tuesday update

The late great Christopher Hitchens once advised ‘Do not take refuge in the false security of consensus.’

But, as interesting a moral philosopher as Hitch was, he was rubbish at SuperCoach.

There can be wisdom in a herd – even in a herd composed of SuperCoach battlers Tom Sangster, Wilson Smith, Ian Maybanks, Fatima Kdouh and myself – Rob Sutherland.

See below for what a team made up of our most popular selections would look like then keep scrolling for notes on who missed out.

SuperCoach is back for 2024

HOOKERS

Harry Grant into Jayden Brailey is the party style guide at this stage. Reece Robson did get support from Ian ‘The Mastermind’ Maybanks though.

.

FRONT ROWERS

Double big banger is the move here.

Big Tino and Payne Haas took majority support. The likes of Addin Fonua-Blake, Moe Fotuaika and Reuben Cotter had some support. New Broncos Fletcher Baker and emerging Penrith talent Liam Henry won the cheapie slots though former Panther now Rooster Spencer Leniu was the other cheapie with backers.

SECOND ROW FORWARDS

Mid-range madness is all the go. Premiums Cam Murray and Pat Carrigan had some support as did Roosters youngster Siua Wong. Samuela Fainu was the most popular cheapie.

.

HALFBACKS

A combined Nathan Cleary and Nicho Hynes was actually the most popular selection here. But we can’t do that and fill the other slots (the general population lack Tom and Wilson’s salary cap boosts) so we can only have one. Cleary just gets the nod by a nose.

5/8s

Dylan Brown wins the premium spot – just. Tom Dearden and Jayden Campbell had supporters. Raider Kaeo Weekes is the cheapie choice.

.

WINGS/CENTRES

A very cookie cutter CTW lineup here with all seven of those selected fitting within the top-10 at position by ownership.

FULLBACKS

Double premium is the go here. Kalyn Ponga had the strongest support. Ryan Papenhuyzen just pips the likes of Scott Drinkwater, Tom Trbojevic and AJ Brimson for the final spot.
